The door between hotel rooms in Dubai

When I went to Dubai on a trip, I noticed that there was a door in my hotel room, that could let me go to the room next of mine, if it was not locked. This does not seem to be something special, if some local person did not tell me the purpose of this door.

When Arabian people travel around the world to visit hotels in the world's famous cities, they don't like their wives to be seen by any other man. So, they like to book rooms, one next to the other, and with a door between them to give their wives the possibility to go from one room to the other without to go in the public corridor where a man could see them.
On the left hand-side of the picture you can see this door.
